Life and Career of Dr. George Constantine Palmer

Education in Jamaica
Dr. Palmer attended Kingston College (KC) in Jamaica during the era of segregation. Despite the challenges, he graduated with honors, demonstrating a strong commitment to education.
Scholarship to Dillard University
After KC, he received a full scholarship to Dillard University in New Orleans, where he majored in Pre-medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude in May 1953.
Medical Training in Germany
Briefly studying at New York University, he then moved to Heidelberg, Germany, to enroll at Heidelberg University School of Medicine, graduating with honors in 1957 and completing his General Surgery residency in 1962.
Medical Career
Dr. Palmer served as a staff physician at Heidelberg University Hospital for many years and later at Krankenhaus Hetzelstift, marking a distinguished career in medicine.

Family, Legacy, and Dedication of Dr. George Constantine Palmer

Lifelong Dedication to Kappa Alpha Psi

Dr. Palmer was initiated into Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity in the Beta Gamma Chapter at Dillard University in 1949 at age 16. As a chartering member of the Germany Alumni Chapter, founded on June 3, 1964, he served as its first Polemarch for 14 consecutive years. A Life Member for 56 years, Dr. Palmer received numerous awards for his exceptional service and dedication.

Legacy and Passing

After a lifetime of service, Dr. F. George Palmer passed away on September 29, 2005, in Schwetzingen, Germany. He is survived by his son, F. George Palmer II, and beloved family members, as well as a host of fraternity brothers, colleagues, and friends who cherish his memory.
